Design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance backend services in Java/Kotlin that power client-facing applications for trading, custody, and wealth management. Build robust APIs and microservices to support advanced dashboards, analytics tools, and mobile experiences. Collaborate closely with front-end engineers, product managers, and designers to deliver seamless, intuitive experiences for sophisticated investors. Architect solutions for portfolio management, trade execution, settlement, reporting, and analytics tailored to institutional and private clients. Optimize backend systems for low latency, high throughput, and fault tolerance. Integrate security best practices and advanced encryption to safeguard sensitive financial data. Continuously improve backend performance, reliability, and development workflows.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
Strong hands-on experience with Kotlin in backend and distributed systems development. Proven expertise building scalable APIs, microservices, and backend platforms for complex financial or data-intensive applications. Familiarity with cloud deployments, and service-oriented architectures. Knowledge of messaging and streaming technologies (NATS, Kafka, or similar). Solid understanding of algorithms, data structures, databases, and distributed systems. Knowledge of ledger systems is a strong plus. Passion for solving challenging technical and financial problems with clean, maintainable code. Commitment to quality-driven engineering, with a strong focus on testing (unit, integration, performance, and failure recovery). Experience in fintech, trading, or wealth management platforms is a strong advantage.
