Own the product lifecycle for geolocation sanctions compliance tools and systems, from ideation through development, launch, and continuous improvement.
Collaborate with compliance and legal teams to translate relevant regulations and policies into system requirements, translating business needs into functional and technical specifications for the sanctions screening solution.
Design and lead the implementation of IP-based controls (e.g., geofencing, access restrictions, monitoring alerts) to detect and prevent interactions with Sanctioned Countries, Embargoed Regions, or Restricted Jurisdictions.
Partner with engineering and data science teams to implement advanced technologies such as AI/ML for improved detection and false positive reduction.
Serve as the SME for all matters related to geolocation-based sanctions controls and jurisdictional risk.
Act as a key contributor during regulatory exams, internal audits, and policy reviews, providing authoritative guidance on geolocation-based sanctions controls.
Maintain strong knowledge of evolving global sanctions frameworks and proactively assess how geopolitical changes may impact geolocation enforcement strategies.
Deliver internal training and develop knowledge materials on best practices related to sanctions evasion techniques (e.g., VPNs, proxies), and mitigation strategies.
Requirements:
Bachelorās degree in Business, Law, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field.4+ years of product management experience, preferably in compliance, financial services, or fintech.
Strong understanding of international sanctions regimes (e.g., OFAC, UN, EU, UK sanctions) and related compliance challenges.
Experience working with AML, KYC, or sanctions compliance teams is highly desirable.
Familiarity with compliance technology solutions, including sanctions screening and transaction monitoring systems.
Technical aptitude with experience collaborating with engineering and data teams.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Good to Have:
Experience in the crypto, fintech, or cross-border payments industry.
Certifications such as CAMS, CGSS, or Certified Sanctions Specialist (CSS).
Exposure to blockchain analytics tools (e.g., Chainalysis, TRM Labs, Elliptic).
Understanding of network security principles as they relate to location detection and fraud prevention.
