The Opportunity We are seeking a strategically-minded Director of FP&A to join our Hong Kong Finance team. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will take ownership of the firm’s financial planning infrastructure, management reporting, and strategic analysis. You will be responsible for architecting the data flows that power our financial insights, driving automation in reporting, and acting as a key business partner to management. You will translate complex data from trading activities, internal systems, and external market sources into actionable financial strategy and will:
Lead the budget process, define policies, and overall financial strategy for the upcoming fiscal years. Partner closely with leaders to develop project plans for strategic initiatives, tracking milestones and ensuring optimised capital allocation. Track budget-to-actuals, analysing performance variances against prior forecasts and proactively identifying risks and opportunities. Own the production of the official monthly Management Reporting Pack for the EMT, consolidating data and providing variance and trend analysis. Design and execute cost allocation methodologies to ensure accurate attribution of department spend to various business lines and departments. Take full ownership of the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of NSPB (Netsuite Planning and Budgeting) for reporting and forecasting. Spearhead the centralisation of data collection across the organization, integrating diverse sources into cohesive financial models. Identify and integrate external data sources to enhance management reporting context. Drive a culture of automation by building dynamic data flows and real-time dashboards to monitor the ongoing health and performance of the business.
Who you are
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field. 10+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, corporate finance with at least 3-5 years in a leadership capacity. Experience in high-frequency trading and crypto is highly preferred. Demonstrated ability to operate at a senior level, acting as a trusted advisor to C-suite executives. You must be able to challenge assumptions and translate complex financial data into clear strategic narratives. Advanced proficiency in financial modeling is required. Hands-on experience implementing or managing EPM systems (Netsuite Planning and Budgeting/NSPB strongly preferred). Strong understanding of data architecture and experience with BI/visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a significant plus.
